Parndorf Outlet Vienna - Brands, Sales & How to Get There

Vienna is wonderful for shopping, from the elegant boutiques around the Goldenes Quartier to the familiar international names of Mariahilfer Straße. But when we are actually looking for designer brands at considerably lower prices, there is one place outside the city that inevitably enters the conversation: Designer Outlet Parndorf.

Located in Burgenland, roughly 50 kilometres from central Vienna, Parndorf has become much more than a place locals visit when they need a new pair of trainers. It is a genuine shopping destination, attracting people from Vienna as well as visitors from Slovakia, Hungary and further abroad.

And it is big enough that we would not treat it as a quick stop.

With more than 160 designer brands, restaurants, cafés and constantly changing promotions, we prefer to think of Parndorf as a day trip from Vienna, especially if shopping is one of the things we enjoy doing when travelling.

Here is what we would know before going.

What Is Designer Outlet Parndorf?

Designer Outlet Parndorf is a large McArthurGlen outlet centre in the town of Parndorf, close to Lake Neusiedl and the Austrian borders with Slovakia and Hungary.

The concept is straightforward. Instead of paying normal city centre retail prices, we find previous collections, outlet collections and discounted merchandise from major international brands.

The official advertised savings can reach up to 70% compared with recommended retail prices, although naturally this varies enormously between stores and products.

This is something we always keep in mind.

"Outlet" does not automatically mean that everything we touch is an incredible bargain. Some stores have much better deals than others, and the really interesting moment is often when an additional promotion is applied to an already reduced outlet price.

That is when Parndorf becomes particularly tempting.

What Brands Can We Find at Parndorf Outlet?

This is probably the main reason Parndorf is worth travelling outside Vienna for.

The outlet currently has more than 160 designer brands, covering everything from luxury fashion and handbags to sportswear, shoes, children's clothing, cosmetics, luggage and home products.

Luxury and Designer Brands

For luxury shopping, some of the biggest names include Gucci, Prada, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Valentino, Ferragamo, Bally and Moncler Grenoble.

There are also stores from Coach, Michael Kors, Furla, Longchamp and Aigner, making Parndorf particularly interesting if we are looking for handbags and accessories.

Fashion and Everyday Brands

For something less extravagant, we can shop at BOSS, HUGO, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld, Diesel, Levi's, Guess, Lacoste and many others.

The mixture is one of Parndorf's strengths. We can walk out of a luxury boutique and a few minutes later be comparing discounted jeans or trainers.

Sportswear and Shoes

Sportswear is another strong category here.

Nike, adidas, PUMA, The North Face, Arc'teryx, Hoka, Converse, Birkenstock, Dr. Martens and Columbia are among the names we can find.

If we are visiting with a family where everyone wants something different, this variety makes Parndorf considerably easier than travelling around Vienna from shop to shop.

When Are the Best Sales at Parndorf?

There are discounts throughout the year. That is the basic idea of an outlet, and many products are advertised at reductions of up to 70%.

But there is an important difference between normal outlet prices and the special sale periods.

Parndorf regularly runs additional shopping events where participating stores offer further reductions. In summer 2026, for example, the Summer Sale offered additional discounts of up to 50%. Black Friday is another important shopping period, with special offers across participating brands.

There are also shorter events such as Designer Outlet Days and seasonal shopping weekends.

If our dates are flexible, we would always check the current offers before deciding when to visit. The additional discount periods can make a substantial difference, particularly when we are buying several items or shopping at the more expensive designer stores.

There is one downside: everyone else knows about the sales too.

The biggest promotional periods and Saturdays can become very busy. If we value a quieter experience more than squeezing every possible euro out of the discounts, we would choose a weekday morning.

How to Get to Parndorf Outlet from Vienna

One reason Parndorf works surprisingly well as a Vienna day trip is that we do not necessarily need a car.

By Car from Vienna

Driving is the easiest option if we are planning serious shopping.

From Vienna, the journey normally takes around 40 to 50 minutes, depending on where we start and the traffic. We head east from Vienna towards Burgenland and Parndorf.

The useful navigation address is:

Having a car also means we do not have to spend the afternoon wondering how many shopping bags we can reasonably carry onto a train.

Shuttle Bus from Vienna

For tourists staying in central Vienna, the dedicated shuttle can be even easier.

The official shuttle operates between the Vienna State Opera and Designer Outlet Parndorf on operating days, with several departures in both directions. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes, depending on traffic.

We like this option for visitors because there is very little to organise. We can spend the morning sightseeing in Vienna on another day, then dedicate Parndorf entirely to shopping without worrying about driving or parking.

We would book ahead and check the current timetable before travelling, rather than simply arriving at the Opera and hoping for a seat.

By Train from Vienna

Parndorf is also accessible by train.

ÖBB trains connect Vienna with Parndorf Ort station. From the station, a local train-station bus connects passengers with Designer Outlet Parndorf.

For anyone already comfortable using Austria's railway system, this is a perfectly reasonable alternative to renting a car purely for an outlet visit.

How Much Time Do We Need at Parndorf?

This depends entirely on how seriously we take shopping.

For a few specific stores, three or four hours may be enough. If we actually want to explore the outlet, compare prices, try clothes on, have lunch and revisit a store before making a decision, we would allow most of the day.

The centre is larger than it initially appears, and 160 plus brands create plenty of opportunities to become distracted.

We would also arrive with a rough list of priority stores. Otherwise it is surprisingly easy to spend the first two hours wandering around and discover later that the shop we actually wanted was at the opposite end of the centre.

Where Can We Eat at Parndorf?

A shopping day here does not require surviving on coffee and determination.

There are cafés, restaurants and quicker food options throughout the outlet. Choices include places such as Starbucks, Le Burger and the Italian restaurant Rossopomodoro, alongside other cafés and food stops.

We normally prefer taking a proper break halfway through the visit. Parndorf involves more walking than we expect, and after several hours of looking at clothes, sizes and prices, sitting down for lunch can restore everyone's enthusiasm remarkably quickly.

Parndorf Outlet Opening Hours

The regular opening hours currently vary during the week.

Monday to Wednesday: 09:00 - 20:00

Thursday and Friday: 09:00 - 21:00

Saturday: 09:00 - 18:00

Sunday: Closed

The outlet is closed on Sundays, which is particularly important for international visitors.

Austria takes Sunday closing seriously, and arriving in Parndorf on Sunday expecting a European shopping marathon will result in a very quiet day indeed.

Opening hours can change around public holidays and special events, so we would always check them before leaving Vienna.

Is Designer Outlet Parndorf Worth Visiting from Vienna?

If we have only two days in Vienna and have never seen Schönbrunn, the historic centre or the Belvedere, we would probably keep our time in the city.

But if we love shopping, are staying for several days, or already know Vienna, Parndorf offers something completely different.

For locals, it is the kind of place we can return to when there is a particular sale or when we actually need something. For visitors, it can become an easy day trip that combines designer shopping with prices we are unlikely to find in Vienna's luxury shopping streets.

Our favourite approach is simple: arrive early, know which stores matter most to us, leave enough time for unexpected finds, and never assume the first discount we see is necessarily the best one.

Because at Parndorf, the dangerous phrase is rarely "that's too expensive."

It is usually, "at this price, maybe we should get two."
